… Partners Ekiti South West Constituency Member On Football Competition To Discover Talents, Foster Unity

The member representing the Ise/Orun Ekiti Constituency in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Honourable Babatunde Omotayo has distributed food items worth millions of Naira to over 1000 beneficiaries across the 10 wards in the Constituency.
Honourable Babatunde Omotayo while speaking during the distribution exercise of the food palliatives held at the palace of Arinjale of Ise Ekiti Kingdom, said the food palliatives / relief materials is to provide succour for the vulnerable members of his community who bear the brunt of economic hardships.
Honourable Omotayo however appealed to his constituents to remain hopeful amid the current economic challenges, reassuring them that measures are being taken to mitigate their hardships. He encouraged them to maintain optimism, with the belief that brighter days are ahead.
Earlier, Honourable Babatunde Omotayo in partnership with his colleague from the Ekiti Southwest Constituency 2, in person of Honourable Tolu Ige, jointly organized a football match between their football teams, which saw Tunde Jolly FC and Tolu Ige FC slogging it out at the Oluyemi Olukayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti on the 28th of March, 2024.
At the end of the 90 minutes of play, Tolu FC belonging to Honourable Tolu Ige from the Ekiti Southwest Constituency 2 defeated Tunde Jolly FC, belonging to Honourable Babatunde Omotayo from Ise/Orun Ekiti Constituency with a 1-0 scoreline.
Both teams were thereafter rewarded with the cash gift of the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) each.

In a separate interviews with Honourable Babatunde Omotayo from Ise/Orun Ekiti Constituency and Honourable Tolu Ige from Ekiti Southwest Constituency 2, both revealed that the reason for the football match was to discover new talents and foster peace and unity between their Constituencies in the State.
They described the football game as a globally celebrated sport, now evolving into an instrument fostering global peace, unity and economic prosperity.
They promised to continue to engage the youth by providing a platform for them to showcasing their talents thereby potentially attracting attention from talent scouts.
The two Honourable members however called on others to initiate innovative ideas aimed at revitalizing the state’s sports sector by investing in grassroots football development as a means of nurturing future talent and enhancing the state’s sporting capacities.
