Joint Security Operation Neutralizes Armed Gangs In Anambra

A joint security operation involving the Police, Military, and other Security Agencies have successfully neutralized an armed secessionist gang in Ufuma, Anambra State. The operation, which took place in January around 12:30 pm, resulted in the neutralization of five gang members, while others managed to escape with various degrees of bullet wounds.

During the operation, the security team demolished the criminals camp and recovered several items, including

four undetonated improvised explosive devices (IEDs), two AK47 assault rifles, one pump action gun and one 75-voltage ft battery and other incriminating items. 

The success of the operation were attributed to the collaboration and coordination among the various security agencies involved. 

The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, calls for greater cooperation from the public in the area, urging them to take back their space and deny the criminal elements the opportunity to cause further tension in the State.

The operation is still ongoing, with efforts to arrest the fleeing gang members. 

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, assures that further developments will be communicated accordingly.
