Justice Served As Ekiti Police Arrest Suspects For Theft, Assault

The Ekiti State Police Command has made a breakthrough in its efforts to curb crime in the state, arresting two suspects for phone theft, abduction and sexual assault.

According to a press release by SP Abutu Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Ekiti State Police Command, the arrests were made possible by a credible tip-off and swift action by the Ado Central Divisional Police Officer.

Miracle Peter, a habitual phone thief, was arrested at Fayose Market with three stolen phones. During investigation, he confessed to stealing the phones from three different owners at Ifaki-Ekiti.

In a separate incident, Ayomide Jinadu was arrested for abducting and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. The suspect allegedly lure the victim into his house, where she was kept and harassed for five days.

The Police Command urged parents and guardians to warn their wards to be mindful of their surroundings and relationships, and advise victims of sexual assault to speak out immediately to enable prompt action.
