KDI In Partnership With NYSC Sets To Establish Civic, Voters Education CDS Group

All is set for the Kimpact Development Initiative, KDI, to partner with the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, to establish a Civic and Voters Education Community Development Service, CDS, Group for Corps members across Nigeria.

In a statement made public, the Communication Manager for the Kimpact Development Initiative, KDI, Mercy Abiem, revealed that the partnership has given birth to a memorandum of understanding between the KDI and NYSC on the 11th March, 2026 held at the NYSC National Headquarters.

Abiem added that the collaboration will strengthened the KDI’s ongoing efforts to promote and expand the civic education and deepened democratic participation nationwide.

Abiem further explained that, the initiative will afford thousands of corps members across the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory of the Country to be mobilized to promote voter and civic education at their different host communities through the KDI Civic and Voters Education CDS Group.

In addition, KDI is also expected to leverage on the wide coverage of the NYSC’s structure and scheme and the broader community engagement which would enabled voter education messages spread to reach diverse and underserved populations.

The KDI’s approach will also help ensure that all voter education efforts remain accurate, inclusive, and aligned with the national electoral guidelines and civic mobilisation standards.

The KDI Communication Manager, Mercy Abiem, explained further that the partnership will help represent a significant milestone in institutionalising youth – led civic engagement in the Country.

She equally assured that, including voters education activities in the NYSC structure and scheme, will in no doubt greatly help sustain the platform for young Nigerians to contribute meaningfully to strengthening the democratic culture and electoral integrity.
