A fire broke out early morning on Friday at the Lagos State Government Staff Quarters on Odunsanmi Street Off WEPCO road Ogba.

The fire that started around 2:00 a.m. severally damaged a two-story building specifically one of the two bedroom apartment located in block 21, a three story structure comprising 16 two bedroom flats.
In addition, investigation by The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) , initially revealed that the fire was caused by electric surge in the children’s room.
The fire completely destroyed the room and caused several properties damage, calculated to be worth millions of naira.
Permanent secretary of LASEMA,a person of Dr Femi Oke Osanyintolu made this known that quick response from LASEMA’s Response Team ( LRT), The Nigerian Police Force, and the Lagos State and the Lagos State Fire and rescue service was paramount in containing and extinguishing the fire because it could spread further.

The immediate response and response of the agency’s LRT,NPF, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, ensured the fire was totally extinguished without hesitation.
“Exhilaratingly, no loss of live was recorded and no injury sustained in the fire incident”. Oke Osanyintolu explained.
He further stressed that, resident were educated on the safe and use of electrical appliances following the incident.

As of 5:a.m, emergency personnel were still present on the scene, ensuring the situation was fully under control.
