Man Apprehended For Attempting Raping 19 Years Girl In Ekiti

A 25 years old man, Ojo Adewunmi, have been allegedly apprehended by the Ekiti State Amotekun Corp Operatives for attempting to rape a 19 years old girl in Ekiti State on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025 at Ilawe Ekiti. 

According to the Head of the Communications Department, Officer Adeleye Abiodun Adewale on behalf of the State Commander for the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps, Brigadier General Ibukun Olu Adewa retired, revealed how the suspected rapist forcefully lock the victim indoors in an attempt to rape a 19 years old girl.

However, his plans were foiled when the Amotekun operatives arrived at the scene, responding to the victim’s screams for help.

The victim narrated her ordeal, describing how she felt helpless and hopeless until the Amotekun officers arrived to rescue her. The suspect has since been handed over to the Police Division in llawe-Ekiti for further investigation and possible prosecution.

This arrest is a testament to the efforts of the Amotekun corps in maintaining law and order in Ekiti State. The corps have been working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of citizens, particularly in rural areas.
