Man Expert In Phone Theft, Hard Drug  Arrested In Ekiti Community

A man expert in phone theft, hard drug, burgling, pickpocketing and street fighting have been arrested in Oye Ekiti by the officers of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps for various crimes and atrocities.

In a press release by the Head of the Communication Department for the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps, Officer Adeleye Abiodun Adewale, “the Amotekun Operatives of Oye Local Government Command was said to have arrested Mr. Taiwo Emmanuel, a 28 years old, an indigene of Omuo-Aran in Kwara State on Sunday 15th December, 2024 during a joint patrol with other security agencies in the State.

The Ekiti State Amotekun Corps Spokesperson said, “the Oye Ekiti local government Amotekun Command has been on the watch and suspicion of the said Suspect for some weeks, before he was eventually picked up and arrested. 

Owing to the discovery that the suspect was homeless and his involvement in persistent criminal activities in the town, he was asked to evacuate the town by signing an undertaking. 

At the time the suspect, Taiwo Emmanuel was been searched for, some costly phones were found on him, which he confessed to have pilfered at one club house (Groove Garden) located in the town. He also narrated his misfortune, noting that, the phones could not be bought by people, owing to the security PIN/passwords on them.

In a related development, the Officers were able to apprehend three of his friends who have been harbouring and abetting him (the suspect).

The suspect, alongside his three friends with all the exhibits (2 phones, 1 phone XR MAX and REDMI NOTE 13) recovered from him, have since been handed over to the police jurisdiction of the town in Oye Local Government Command for further investigations.
