New Executives Elected for Ekiti IPAC

Newly-elected Executives of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Ekiti State Chapter, have been elected and told to discharge their duties with a view to entrench Country’s democracy.

The Chairman for the Electoral Committee from IPAC’s National Headquarters in Abuja, who also doubles as the National Secretary of the NNPP, Mr. Dipo Olayoku, gave his admonition at the election and swearing-in of the newly elected Executive members of the IPAC held at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Headquarters, in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State on Friday.

Mr Olayoku, the National Scribe for the  NNPP, described IPAC “as a platform that provides opportunity for all political parties in Nigeria to share opinions, rub minds and put heads together as a way of sustaining and deepening the Nation’s democracy.

Olayokun stressed his believe that in every set up, there must be a leadership, and that is why the IPAC constitution recognizes leadership at both the national and state levels. He also added, that having election at IPAC is a way of deepening the Country’s democracy. 

According to him, he said “we at IPAC always organize this type of election. This implies you seek and receive the consent of the people you want to lead”.

The elected Executive Members include, Mr Owoola Dararmola of Young Progressives Party, YPP, as the Chairman, who scored thirteen votes out of thirteen voters; Chief Samuel Abiola of the Accord elected as the Deputy Chairman; Mr Yinka Dada of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, was voted in as the Secretary; Deacon Anifowose Joseph of the Action Alliance, AA was elected as the Organizing Secretary; Engr. Aanu Akindahunsi of the People’s Redemption Party, PRP, emerged as the Teasurer and Chief Femi Eponlolaye from the Action Democratic Party, ADP, was equally elected as the Public Relations Officer, PRO.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman, Mr Dipo Olayoku, said, the day was a watershed in the history of politics in Ekiti State, pledging to discharge his responsibilities to the attainment of the objectives of IPAC in the State. 

He advocated participatory and all-inclusive governance to engender healthy democratic growth of the Country.

”As stakeholders in the Ekiti State project, even though we all belong to different political parties, I intend to galvanize us all, to help the government in rebuilding the State”.

He enjoined his colleagues to co-operate with him to to steer the ship of IPAC to appropriate destination.
