According to a statement issued by the Forum’s Director-General, Dr. Abdulateef Shittu, the NGF’s primary role is to promote unified policy positions and collaborate with stakeholders to drive socioeconomic growth and well-being.

According to the press statement signed by Dr. Abdullateef Shittu, a technical and policy hub comprising governors from different political platforms, the NGF aims to avoid taking positions that may alienate its members with varying political interests. This stance is rooted in the Forum’s history, having survived a fundamental division due to political differences among its members just a few years ago.

While the NGF maintains its neutrality on partisan issues, it has taken bold positions on governance and policy matters with significant consequences, such as wages, taxes, education, and universal healthcare.

The Forum is confident that appropriate platforms and crisis management mechanisms will address any issues that may arise.

Dr. Shittu emphasized the importance of understanding from the public and the media, acknowledging the NGF’s commitment to promoting the well-being of the people.
