NUJ Ekiti Kick Starts 2024 Press Week Activities

The Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council has kicked started the 2024 Press Week activities with a press conference held on Monday at the State Secretariat of the NUJ in Ado Ekiti, State State.

Addressing the press conference, the Chairman of the 2024 Press Week Committee, Mr Rotimi Feyisina revealed that the 2024 press week will hold from the 7th of October, 2024 to the 13th of October, 2024. 

Reeling out the other activities for the 2024 press week, Mr Rotimi Feyisina stated that on “Tuesday 8th of October ,2024, there would be a Health Talk/Free Medical check-Up by 8:00am at the NUJ Press Centre; and on Wednesday, the 9th of October, 2024, there would be an Iyan Day by 2:00 pm at the NUJ Press Centre. 

“On Thursday, 10th of October, 2024, there would be an indoor game starting from 8:00am till the participants are exhausted. 

“Jumat Service will hold by 1:00 pm on Friday, the 11th of October, 2024 at the Ansa-ru-deen Mosque and to be followed by a Novelty match between the NUJ Ekiti and the Members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium by 4:00 pm. 

Feyisina stated further “that the Public Lecture will hold on Saturday, the 12th of October, 2024 by 10:00 am at the G-BOS Hotel located on the Bank Road in Ado Ekiti while the grand finale of the week long activities which is Dinner / Award Night will also commenced on the same day by 5:00 pm at the same G-BOS Hotel in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Also, “on Sunday, the 13th of October, 2024; there would be a Thanksgiving Service at the Christ Way Church, located opposite School of Nursing by 10:00 am in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State”. 

The 2024 Press Week Committee however appealed to the members of the Union and the general public to take advantage of the free health services to benefit immensely from the scheme.
