NUJ Ekiti Sets To Elect New Leaders

.. As NUJECO Rolls Out Menu For 2023 Election

The Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council is set to elect its new leaders as the five man Electoral Committee set up to oganise the Union elections has rolled out the menu for the 2023 election in Ekiti State. 

This was revealed in a statement co-signed by the members of the NUJ Ekiti State Electoral Committee headed by Comrade Yaquob Popoola as Chairman and Comrade Amos Ogunrinde as Secretary.

Other members of the NUJ Ekiti State Electoral Committee are Comrade Ayodele Abere, Comrade Abimbola Adegboyega and Comrade Bolanle Lawal.

According to the statement, “Purchasing of Expression of Interest Form which started on Wednesday November 8th has ended on Friday November 17th, 2023.

“The Campaigns has also commenced on Thursday November 16th and will end on Tuesday December 19th, 2023.

“The statement added that the submission of forms by Aspirants will take place on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023.

Also, “the Screening of Aspirants by NUJECO is expected to hold on Friday November 24th, 2023. 

“The Submission of list of qualified and financial members by Chapel Chairmen will take place between Monday 20th November and end on Friday November 24th, 2023.

The statement revealed further that, “the time for Claims and Objections will run from Monday 26th November, Tuesday November 27th and terminated on 28th November, 2023.

According to the Committee, “the manifesto night will hold on Tuesday December 19th, 2023 and the Election Day is Wednesday December 20th, 2023”.

Treasure Newspaper gathered that the Union members who have obtained nominations forms to contest various positions in the Union includes: Comrade Kayode Babatuyi who is aspiring to contest as Chairman; Comrade Olayinka Ilori aspiring as to become Vice Chairman; Comrade Seun Ogunsakin as aspiring Secretary and Comrade Victor Akinkuolie as aspiring Assistant Secretary. 

Others are Comrade Lawrence Ibitoye aspiring as Financial Secretary;  Comrade Abidemi Sikiru aspiring as Treasurer and Comrade Olubunmi Ibiteye aspiring as the Auditor of the Union.
