All is now set for the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ, Zone B in charge of the Southwest States to hold a public lecture with the theme “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Press Freedom and Media” to celebrate the 2025 World Press Freedom Day in the Zone.

According to the press release signed and made available to Treasure Newspaper on Monday, the Vice President, NUJ Zone B, Comrade Ronke Afebioye – Samo, said, “the engaging session will explore the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence on Journalism, the rise of misinformation and the ethical dilemma facing media professionals in today’s digital landscape”.
She revealed that the event which promises to be insightful will involved discussions to be led by the Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Abdulfatai Omotayo Buhari; while the Keynote Speaker will be the Vice Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Professor Rasak Olatunde Kalilu and the Chairman of the event, Alhaji Bolaji Kareem, a seasoned journalist and former Commissioner for works in Oyo State.
She added that the lecture is scheduled to hold at the NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, GRA Ibadan by 11:00 am on Wednesday 7th May,2025.
She urged Journalists, Public Relations Practitioners, Media Stakeholders to create time to attend the event.
