NYSC DG Visits Ekiti Camp, Hails Corps’ Conduct

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Y.D Ahmed has visited the NYSC Orientation Camp at Ise / Orun local government area, expressing his appreciation to the prospective corps members, and also hailing their good conducts.

In his address to the PCM’s, Brig. Gen Ahmed lauded their exemplary behavior, stating that the State Coordinator had described them as the best set ever encountered thus far.

The NYSC Boss who commended the cleanliness of the camp environment,  praised the performance of the quarter guard, led by Parade Commander Onyekachi, for their impeccable display of discipline.

Emphasizing the significance of the camp experience, he highlighted the role of parade as a cornerstone of discipline and urged PCM’s to prioritize security consciousness throughout their service year.

Addressing the importance of the service year as a period for learning and development, Brigadier-General Ahmed referenced the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program, urging PCM’s to take advantage of the opportunities for personal and professional growth. He also advised against unnecessary relocation, emphasizing the benefits of embracing the local community and contributing to its improvement.

In a gesture of support and encouragement, Brigadier-General Ahmed promised incentives for the PCM’s, including three cows to celebrate their successful graduation from tertiary institutions. He reiterated the importance of avoiding fraudulent activities related to posting and relocation, assuring PCM’s that these processes are free and transparent.

During his visit, Brigadier-General Ahmed also recognized the contributions of various groups within the orientation camp, including the quarter guard, the band, the Corps Camp Directors, the cultural troop, and the Man o’ War team, by providing them with incentives.

In conclusion, Brigadier-General Ahmed extended his best wishes to all Corps Members and expressed regret for not being able to attend their swearing-in ceremony, promising to celebrate their achievements from afar. He urged PCM’s to approach their service year with dedication and commitment, striving to make a positive impact on the communities they serve.
