A lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Dr Ayo Ojediran was on Tuesday slumped and died in his office.

The deceased was said to have taken his children to school and returned to his office to commence the day work. It was learnt that the deceased has no sign of illness until his sudden death.
The late university don was until his death, a lecturer at the Department of Science and Technology Education in the Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife.
Reacting to his death, one of the lecturer who spoke under the condition of anonymity, described his demise as sudden and a rude shock to the union and the entire university community, saying she is a pleasant and an institutional man.
He said late Ojediran had contributed to the progress and development of OAU. “He served the Department and the university meritoriously. He is a man that puts everything he has into whatever responsibility he was given to discharge”.

“We are going to miss him. His death is very painful. He is a very amiable personality but we cannot question God for his death but to accept the reality because all of us will one day bid life farewell.
“We will continue to pray God for the repose of her soul. I commiserate with his immediate family, colleagues and friends for God to give them the fortitude to bear the painful death. The Department and Faculty will miss him because the department has loss a loyal and committed member”, he said.
