An Ikere Ekiti born legal luminary, Chief Wole Olanipekun has hosted the new Bishop of the Diocese of Ekiti South Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) headed by the Rt Rev’d Francis Olanrewaju Bankole, and assisted by his wife, Professor Mercy Adenike Bankole, presented the couple with Cheque for payment of 14 months salary in advance starting from November, 2025 to December 2026 at Iyaniwura House, Moshood Road GRA, Ikere, Ekiti State.
Chief Olanipekun also used the opportunity to honour the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ekiti State, Bishop Andrew Ajayi, and wife with an undisclosed amount handed over to him via a bank cheque.
Olanipekun, speaking further on behalf of wife and family, pointed out that Ekiti South Diocese belongs to God and stressed the importance of unity and voluntary participation in church activities.
He commended the people of Emure and Ise Ekiti for their active involvement and recognized the contributions of the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr Oluwole Ariyo.

Olanipekun reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Bishop Andrew Ajayi and Mama Ekiti, acknowledging their leadership and years of service to the Church.
The ceremony featured the launch of a church endowment fund aimed at supporting ministers’ salaries.
In response to Chief Wole Olanipekun gestures; Bishop Francis Bankole expressed his gratitude and appreciation, attributing whatever he has done or achieve to God, His Grace and the prayers of his congregations.

He acknowledged the mentorship and support of church leaders and the presence of some key figures
Bishop Bankole also paid tribute to his family, particularly his mother, who sacrificed her education to care for him, and expressed gratitude to the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State for her longstanding support.
He described the local congregants as faithful and committed partners in advancing God’s work, highlighting the unity and dedication of members as a sign of divine blessing in the Diocese.

In his conclusion, he prayed for God’s continuous blessings for the Diocese, its leaders, and the community at large.
Present at the reception for Bishop Francis Bankole include the Chairman of Ekiti State Traditional Rulers and the Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, Oba Samuel Adejimi Adu Alagbado, the Agirilala II and the 27th Ogoga; the Kabiyesi Ologotun of Ogotun-Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Michael Adesanmi.
In attendance were also the Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Christianah Afuye and the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Akure and the Archbishop of the Ondo Ecclesiastical Province, Dr Simeon Oluwole Borokini among others.
