Olufaki Hails Former Governor Segun Oni As He Prepares To Celebrate 70th Birthday

… Says Only Him Not Yet A Guest At EFCC, ICPC, CCT/CCB Offices

… Wants President Tinubu To Honour Him With National Award

The Kabiyesi Olufaki of Ifaki Ekiti Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) John Adegbenro Falore Ajigbade has hailed the former Governor of Ekiti State, Engineer Segun Adebayo Oni as he prepares to celebrate his 70th birthday on the 4th and 5th of September, 2024 in the State.

According to the statement personally signed by the Kabiyesi and made available to newsmen from his palace on Sunday, the Olufaki of Ifaki Ekiti Kingdom, Oba Falore thanked God Almighty for sparing the life of the former Governor to live up to the age of 70 years on earth.

Oba Falore, while appraising the life of the former Governor, expressed his joy to be opportune to be on the throne of his forefathers while a distinguished and prominent Son of his Kingdom like Asiwaju Segun Adebayo Oni is celebrating a 70th birthday in good health and sound mind despite his past political ordeals in the State and the Country at large.

Oba Falore, speaking further, called on all the politicians in Ekiti State and Nigeria at large to emulate the leadership styles and principles exhibited by the former Governor Segun Adebayo Oni when he was the Governor of the State.

Oba Falore used the opportunity to emphasize that the present Governor of the State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji should learn from Engineer Segun Adebayo Oni on how he was able to govern Ekiti State during his own time with accountability and transparency without misappropriating public funds or involved in State Financial mess.

He went on to described Engineer Segun Adebayo Oni as the only Governor Ekiti State ever had in history who has never been accused of siphoning or stealing public funds or amassing State Resources or converting them to his own personal properties.

Adding, Oba Falore also said Engineer Segun Adebayo Oni is the only Governor who has never been a guest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) or that of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and that of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) since he left office many years ago.

He however recommended Asiwaju Segun Adebayo Oni to be considered for a National Award by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
