The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Wole Oluyede, has congratulated Muslim faithful in Nigeria and Ekiti State on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.

In a statement made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Friday through his media aide, Gani Salau, Oluyede expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for preserving the lives of Muslims to witness the end of the 30-day fasting period.

He urged the Muslim Ummah to uphold the spiritual lessons of Ramadan, emphasizing values such as abstinence from sin, repentance, forgiveness, and generosity, especially towards the less privileged.

“I admonish Muslims not to forget the lessons learned during the Ramadan lectures, particularly on abstinence from sins, repentance, forgiveness, and sharing with others,” he said.

Oluyede noted that Nigeria is currently facing numerous challenges, including insecurity, poverty, hunger, and economic hardship, stressing the need for prayers and collective efforts to guide leaders toward national progress.

He further reminded Muslims that Eid-el-Fitr is not only a time for celebration but also for reflection on service to Allah and humanity, as well as promoting religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

“As you complete the holy month of Ramadan, put all you have learned into practice by showing love to one another and your neighbours,” he added.
