Ondo Police Mark National Police Day with Community Clean-Up, Free Medical Outreach

Ondo State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Adebowale Lawal, has kicked off the 2026 National Police Day celebrations on Monday, March 30, with a series of community-focused initiatives aimed at fostering trust and improving public welfare.
The activities, held across key locations such as Arakale Market and Nepa Junction, included large-scale sanitation exercises and a free medical outreach program, demonstrating the Command’s commitment to both public safety and community well-being.
Residents received medical consultations, basic treatments, and health guidance as part of the outreach.
Speaking at the flag-off event, CP Adebowale Lawal emphasized that the 2026 Police Day, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust,” is intended to strengthen collaboration between the police and the public, while highlighting the humanitarian side of policing.
“The Police are dedicated to building trust, promoting community engagement, and delivering services that put people at the center of our operations,” Lawal said, underscoring the importance of community partnership in effective policing.
The event also hosted AIG Ajani Musbau, who encouraged participants to take full advantage of the sanitation and medical outreach programs and to remain actively engaged in future police-community initiatives.
Officers and men of the Ondo State Police Command led the sanitation exercises, clearing waste and improving public spaces, while simultaneously interacting with residents to build rapport and trust, reinforcing the principle that policing extends beyond enforcement to service and care.
CP Lawal also urged the public to continue supporting the police with credible information and to participate actively in programs that promote peace, safety, and community cohesion.
The week-long National Police Day activities in Ondo State will continue with various programs culminating in a grand celebration scheduled for April 7, 2026, aimed at showcasing the partnership between the police and the communities they serve.
