David Adeleke nicknamed Davido reacting to the ongoing crisis which engulfed the local government areas in Osun State on Monday, posted on his Twitter X handle this: “Mr Umar Abba, Osun State Commissioner, u are a disgrace to ur children !! !!! Some minutes after his post on his X Twitter handle, many Nigerians bombarded him with several comments and reactions, and once again, reacting to a comment advising him to inform his friend, Seyi Tinubu, the President Son, instead of calling out the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Davido responded thus: “He is my friend! And nothing more! His dad is the democratically elected President. MY UNCLE is the democratically ELECTED GOVERNOR.

“Davido’s decision for calling out the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Abba is connected to the ongoing political crisis and tension in the State, between the APC and the PDP members who are currently at loggerheads over attempts by sacked local government chairmen, elected under the APC, to reclaim their positions.
“Over the weekend, Davido’s Uncle, Ademola Adeleke, who is the current Governor of the State, held a press conference in which he called on President Tinubu to intervene and restrain one of his Minister, Gboyega Oyetola, from allegedly using security forces to reinstate the sacked Chairmen”.
The situation however escalated on Monday, February 17, 2025, as gunfire erupted across several local government Secretariat when the dismissed Chairmen and their supporters attempted to reclaim their offices but were resisted by the PDP members.
