The Osun State Police Command has accused Mr. Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of the former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose of lying that he was attacked by gunmen, and that many people were abducted on Monday at Gbongan while he was travelling from Lagos to Ekiti State.

Giving her update of the alleged gunmen attack incidence on Wednesday night through a press release signed and sent to the Treasure Newspaper, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Osun State Police Command, SP Opalola Yemisi Olawoyin punctured the earlier claim by Mr. Isaac Fayose, the younger brother to the former Governor of Ekiti State that he was attacked by gunmen, and that many people were abducted at Gbongan on Monday night as untrue.

Buttressing her point further, SP Opalola explained that, “the Osun State Police Command had contacted the victim for more clarification on the matter. She revealed that, upon contacting Mr. Isaac Fayose, he narrated what really happened, that, while he was on transit from Ekiti to Lagos State, that, at a point after Asejire Dam, towards Ibadan, he saw some travellers making a U-turn for fear of being attacked by presumed Armed Robbers and in his own attempt to make a U-turn, he had a minor accident”.

Also, that, “on the contrary that he was coming from Lagos to Ekiti State as earlier made in the claim on his Facebook page, he was actually travelling from Ekiti to Lagos State. He stated further that, he did not see the purported kidnappers, neither was anyone injured nor abducted from the scene”.

Meanwhile, the Osun State Police Command used the opportunity to inform all members of the public, that, no such incident was reported in any part of the State.

The Osun Police Command however enjoined all members of the public to report any complaints or incidences to the nearest Police Station and not on the social media.
