Our People’s 104.1 FM Mourns Death Of Pioneer Head of Station, Layi Oyawa

The Management and staff of Our People’s 104.1 FM in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State has with a heavy hearts mourned the death of their pioneer Head of Station and a Broadcasting icon, Mr Layi Sunday Oyawa, who described as someone whose voice, presence, and leadership left an enduring mark on the station and the wider media landscape. 

Continuing, they said Mr. Oyawa was more than a veteran broadcaster. 

They described him as a teacher, a mentor and a consummate communicator in every sense of the word.

In a message of condolence, the Head of Station, Dr. Yemi Agbeleoba, paid tribute to the late broadcaster, recalling their first meeting at the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES).

“As the pioneer Head of Station at Our People’s 104.1 FM, Mr. Oyawa dedicated himself to nurturing talent, training broadcasters and shaping voices that continue to resonate across the airwaves today.

“Mr. Oyawa may be gone, but his impact echoes still. His voice may be silent, but his legacy will forever resonate in our hearts, in our studios and in the stories we tell,” Agbeleoba added.

Our People’s 104.1 FM honours Mr. Oyawa’s life and contributions and extends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the broader broadcasting community.
