… Promises To Prioritise Workers’ Welfare

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has distributed 38 vehicles to heads of Local Government Administration in the state’s local governments and Local Council Development Areas, (LCDAs)to increase efficiency and productivity at the grassroots.
Handing out the vehicle keys in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, the Governor stated that the dearth of necessary working tools for public officials was too obvious to be ignored by any responsible government; stressing that mobility is highly essential to enhance performance.
Oyebanji who was represented by the Head of Service, Barrister Bamidele Agbede explained that his administration is mindful of its citizens welfare especially to the people at the grassroots and would do all that is within the limited resources to improve the welfare of the people.
“We shall continue to manage the meagre resources and make judicious use of it to improve the lots of our people and will not take the trust reposed in us for granted.
“We have prioritized the local content in order to grow our economy, these vehicles that we are distributing today were purchased by Ekiti Motor Dealers, this is a demonstration of our commitment to ensure that everybody feels the impact of governance in his administration and his daily endeavors”.
“We shall continue to prioritize the local content with a view to minimizing capital flight, by this, our economy will continue to grow”, he said.
He commended the Ekiti State Motor Dealers Association for delivering the vehicles to time.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local government Affairs, Mr Oluwadare Jolumo, said the distribution was not borne out of abundance of resources but as a means to ensure efficiency in government.
Jolumo pledged that the beneficiaries would justify the good gesture by being more committed to the course of government to deliver on its promises to the people of the state.
He said that the purchase of the vehicles from the Local dealers from Ekiti showed that the principles of local content policy of the present administration.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Fase Modupe, Ekiti South west, thanked the Governor for being a promise keeper and a compassionate leader for the provision of official vehicles to the heads of local government administration across the local government and Local Government Development Areas.
The Chairman, Association of Motor Dealers in Ekiti State, Alhaji Adeniyi Adekunle appreciated the Governor for patronizing them, describing it as first of its kind in the history of Ekiti State saying no government had patronized the car Dealers before.
He promised that the association would ensure they make their tax payment a priority to support the government and to show appreciation to the state Governor.
