Oyebanji Mourns Kidnap, Killing Of Teenager In Ekiti Community

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, have condemned the gruesome murder of a 14 years old Faith Moses, who was kidnapped and killed by suspected gunmen in Emure Ekiti.

Oyebanji described the incident as “painful and devastating,” and assure that the government will leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder, and Oyebanji urged the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. 

He also warned against internal collusion with external bodies, which he believes is fueling the insecurity in the area.

The Governor’s comments came during a sympathy visit to the family of the deceased and a stakeholders’ meeting with the community. 

Oyebanji also addressed the ongoing tussle over the Elemure stool, cautioning against violent Obaship disputes and emphasizing the need for neutrality, honor, and honesty in the selection process.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti Command, Mr. Joseph Eribo, have assured that the police will continue to work with local hunters, Amotekun Corps, and other stakeholders to repel bandits and ensure the security of the state.

The community requests for more military posts and police personnel to tackle the insecurity, and Oyebanji has promised to work with neighboring states to address the issue. 

With the governor’s vow to tackle insecurity and the community’s call for increased security presence, hopes are high that the area will soon experience a return to peace and stability.
