The only female governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress so far ahead of the October 27th, 2025 party’s primary election, Mrs Abimbola Olajumoke has revealed that the incumbent Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji is not the authentic Secretary of the Committee for the creation of Ekiti State as severally claimed by him.

Abimbola described the claim being spread around that Governor Oyebanji was the Secretary of the Ekiti State Creation Committee as a false narrative, a biggest lie and a great deceit.
“Abimbola however revealed that the true Secretary was Dr. Dare Teniola, a medical doctor at the General Hospital at the period (now EKSUTH), who later relocated to the United States.
“Oyebanji was only temporarily designated to take minutes when Dr. Teni was briefly unavailable, and he was excused from the Committee immediately upon Dr. Teni’s return. The fact that Dr. Teni no longer resides in Nigeria has emboldened Oyebanji to spread this falsehood with impunity”.
“Abimbola went on to allegedly labeled Oyebanji as a serial traitor who thrives on blackmail and betrayal, pulling down everyone on his path just to obtain power or whatever selfish goal he is chasing. This has been his trademark since the early days of his political journey.

“From the days of Otunba Niyi Adebayo, Oyebanji betrayed Bunmi Ogunleye, the very man who introduced him to Adebayo and into politics, by turning his benefactor into an enemy of the Adebayos.
“In 2022, he clinched the APC governorship ticket by betraying his friend Wale Fapohunda (SAN), exposing the top secrets of his own benefactor, Kayode Fayemi, to Fayemi’s wife just to become Bisi Fayemi’s preferred candidate.
His political story has never been about merit or competence; it has always been about betrayal, backstabbing, and deceit. He behaves like a chased rat, forever haunted by imaginary pursue”

Abimbola recalled how he was said to have betrayed those who supported his rise to power in 2022, by factionalising the APC, and treated respected party leaders like trash, and weaponized poverty in Ekiti to maintain control. Today, he has resorted to cheap blackmail, purchased endorsements, and rented crowds because he knows he cannot win a free and fair primary election, let alone a general election.
