Oyebanji’s Aide Pleads With Ekiti People To Improve Personal Hygiene To Avoid Spread Of Epidemics

An aide to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji of Ekiti State, the Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Erelu Tosin Aluko – Ajisafe has pleaded with the people of Ekiti State to improve their personal hygiene with the aim of avoiding epidemics from spreading in the State.

Ajisafe also emphasized the need for the residents of the State to maintain a clean environment, thereby preventing any form of epidemic in the State. 

The Commissioner made this call during the August monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise, emphasizing the essence of maintaining a high level of hygiene as a crucial one required to keep the environment of the State free of epidemics.

During her visit to the Post Office area of Ado Ekiti, Erelu Aluko-Ajisafe commended the efforts of the tricycle drivers’ union, who were actively involved in cleaning the median. However, she expressed disappointment with the market women in Okesha and Atikankan for not complying with the state’s sanitation laws.

The commissioner further encouraged the people of Ekiti State to support Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s initiatives aimed at ensuring the safety of lives and properties. These initiatives include dredging and desiltating activities currently ongoing in the state.

The Director of Environmental Health and Sanitation, Mr. Tunde Balogun, announced that several violators of environmental sanitation laws have been apprehended and will face prosecution.
