Oyebanji’s CPS Wants Journalists To Improve On Skills To Gain Govt Recognition

The Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Mr Yinka Oyebode has implored journalists in Ekiti State to improve on their skills to gain government recognition.

Oyebode dropped the message while playing host to members of the Ekiti NUJ Online Media Chapel in his office in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday. 

According to Oyebode, he counselled journalists to boost their readership, network base and make their media organizations a household name in the Media industry.

Speaking further, he charged the Online journalists to register their media with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and pay tax for them to enjoy government patronage like their counterparts. While reiterating that the system dictates the operation of the government, saying every operations and activities of government are strictly followed base on laid down procedures.

He called on them to “go grow their brand individually and also enlarge their readership base to a point that the government will recognize them.

“Online Media has an advantage but grow your brand. It takes time before any media chapel can break through the circle of government.

“Ekiti State Government is not against Online Chapel, it’s all about the system. Ekiti state government does not discriminate, it’s all about being accountable, it’s about the system because government doesn’t jump into what it can’t control. Your relevance and consistency on the job can single you out for recognition”.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Online Chapel, Comrade Abere Ayodele had reteirated the timely reportage of events and activities covered by members of the Chapel with large audience, thereby solicited Clcordial working relationship with the office of the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

The Chairman who led 8 members of the Chapel on the visit, promised to always project government activities.
