The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Chairmanship candidates in the Saturday local government election held in Osun State has been announced as winners across the 30 local government areas of the State.

Announcing the results on Saturday evening in Osogbo, the Osun State Capital, the Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission, OSSIEC, Barrister Hashim Abioye, in company of all other members of the Commission, declared the 30 local government Chairmen seats in Osun State as winners in favour of the ruling political party in the State.
He also declared all the 332 People’s Democratic Party councillorship candidates as winners of the Saturday Local Government Election
Addressing the media further on the outcome of the local government election, the OSSIEC boss, Barrister Abioye, said, “a total of 18 political parties contested and participated in the Osun State local government election held on Saturday, 22nd of February, 2025 across the 3,010 polling units in the State. He equally added that the election was conducted in full compliance with the constitutional provisions, extant laws, regulations and guidelines which empowered the Commission to organize the election.
The lists of the Chairmanship candidates declared returned by the OSSIEC Chairman includes Honourable Babalola Wasiu Kayode for Boripe local government areas; Honourable Okunade Oluwafemi Adesanya for Egbedore LGA; Honourable Adeyenuwo Rotimi John for Ife Central; Hon. Agboola Francis Olajire for Obokun; Hon. Azeez Lateef Adeniran for Isokan; Hon. Aina Abayomi Adesina for Boluwaduro; Hon. Sodiq Samuel Oluwapelumi for Ola Oluwa; Hon. Ajibade Oluwatoyin for Irepodun; Hon. Adebanji Oladiti Tunmininu for Ilesa West and Hon. Ibironke Alade Adegboye for Atakumosa East.
Some of the newly elected local government Chairmen also include Honourable Aroke Muyiwa Aderemi for Ife South; Hon. Kolade Obafemi Kolawole for Olorunda; Hon. Moshood Adekunle Kabiru for Iwo; Hon. Awotunde Abiodun Sarafadeen for Ifelodun; Hon. Akande Taiwo Adekunle for Osogbo; Hon. Dada Feyisayo Ajibola for Atakumosa West; Hon. Amodu Taiwo for Ede North; Hon. Atolagbe Kayode Olayinka for Ifedayo; Hon. Akande Michael for Ife North; Hon. Adeyekun Taiwo Adedayo for Oriade and Hon. Adeniran Adenike Felicia for Ayedaade.
Others are Hon. Afolabi Oyekola Lukman for Ede South; Hon. Ofunyemi Haruna Bukola for Ede South; Hon. Jodda Ambali Babajide for Irewole; Hon. Adewale Adeyinka Oluseun for Odo Otin; Hon. Ogunbiyi Solomon Akinyemi for Ayedire; Hon. Raimi Adenike Nafisat for Ejigbo; Hon. Adebisi Jayeola Nasir for Ila Orangun; Hon. Ilesanmi Taiwo Sunday for Ilesa Easter and Hon. Alade Aderemi Fatai for Orolu.

The OSSIEC Chairman however used the opportunity to appreciates the people of Osun state for turning out impressively to exercise their civic rights during the election.
He also appreciates the IPAC, Osun state Chapter under the leadership of Pastor Victor Akande; FOSIECON, a body of the State Independent Electoral Commission in the Country; Civil Society Groups, Independent Observers and the media community for their unwavering support and cooperation towards the impressive turn out of the election.
