Pentecostal Cleric, Victor Olulodun Consecrated As Newest Bishop In Ekiti 

… Admonished To Avoid Distractions, Or Focusing On Earthly Gains

A prominent pentecostal cleric, Dr Victor Olulodun has been officially consecrated and enthroned into the sacred office of a Bishop in Ekiti State in a church service  held at the headquarters of the Deliverance and Salvation Ministries located in Basiri in Ado Ekiti, on Saturday.

During the service, he was admonished to avoid distractions and not focus on earthly gains that may cost him his eternal life. 

During the consecration and enthronement of Dr Victor Olulodun as the newest Bishop on Saturday, the College of Bishops led by Bishop Elijah Bankole in his sermon called on the new Bishop not to seek pecuniary gains, cause any division in the Church of God, by ensuring the Church of God remains united, devote himself more to the work and service of God with the aim to continue to attract people to God in readiness for Heaven. 

Bishop Elijah Bankole in his sermon, pressed it on the new Bishop to always ensure he fed his congregation with the true mind of God, and avoid seeking premature glory or pursue worldly celebration. 

Adding, Bishop Bankole equally counselled the newly consecrated Bishop to keep his focus on the heavenly gain rather than allow himself to be distracted by the quest in the world to make him do what he ought not to do.

In an interview with the Bishop Elijah Bankole who gave the sermon, he pointed out that it is not the beginning that matters but the end. He revealed that it is much more important to finish well to partake of a true celebration than starting well. 

He urged the new Bishop Victor Olulodun to ensure he finishes well to qualify for a true celebration. Celebration before completion will be a mirage and a self-deceit. 

He also counselled Bishop Victor Olulodun not to be carried away with all the noise and paraphilia of office that come with his new status, and that he should ensure he endures to the end. 

Speaking with newsmen during the church service, the Ekiti State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev Dr Adeyinka Aribasoye encouragement him to follow God who called him into His vineyard to the end, and remain steady and focus.

He also charged him not to look at the physical benefits of becoming a Bishop, but rather, the spiritual responsibilities, the quest to stand up for God and making sure he did not derail from the gospel of faith.

Responding to questions after the church service, the new Bishop and founder of Deliverance and Salvation Ministries, Basiri in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, 

Bishop Victor Olulodun, appreciated God acknowledged that it is not by his own power or might he has been made a Bishop but that of God, his own maker. 

In his own words, he said, God who has helped him to be consecrated as a Bishop will continue to sustain him and help him in the journey.

He acknowledged that he is insufficient in his strength but that he hoped that God will continue to help and support him in the new position. 

He however used the opportunity to call on the people of Ekiti State and Nigeria at large to be closer to God and put him first in all things. 

The lists of Bishops who officiated service where Bishop Victor Olulodun was officially consecrated includes Bishop Dr Yinka Abodunrin, Bishop Dr Felix Kayode, Bishop Dr Ken Soladoye and Bishop Elijah Bankole.

Other Bishops present at the service are Bishop Dr Abifade, Bishop Dr Paul Ayo Richard, Bishop Ezekiel Olatundun and Bishop Gabriel Ogboko.

The lists of the guest minsters at the consecration service includes the Ekiti State Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Dr Kolade Kayo-Ajayi; Rev Dr Olukayode Adewumi, Rev Dr Femi Oke, Apostle Rufus Olajire, Pastor Seyi Olusola, former Ekiti State Government House Chaplain; Pastor Benjamin Afolabi, Evangelist Enoch Ajibade, Apostle Dr Ademilua, Pastor Bode Oluleye, Rev Pius Famosaya and Venerable Samuel Agunbiade. 

Also present was the current Ekiti State Government house Chaplain, in person of Pastor Segun Awolumate.
