The campaign flag-off held at the party’s secretariat at Ajilosun, Ado-Ekiti drew party members and supporters from across the state.

Party faithful welcomed the candidate, a native of Ikere-Ekiti, with fanfare, music, and chants as the party formally began its mobilisation ahead of the governorship election.

Speaking first at the event, Ayodele outlined what he described as a comprehensive plan to transform Ekiti State’s economy through industrial and agricultural development.

“Our plan for Ekiti State is to ensure that we industrialise the state. We want to stop Ekiti from being a state that only depends on agricultural produce and move it to agricultural industrial development,” he said.

According to him, a key component of the plan is the establishment of cottage industries in all the 16 local government areas of the state.

“We have made up our minds that we are going to set up cottage industries in all the 16 local governments in Ekiti State,” he said.

Ayodele added that the initiative would create employment opportunities across the state. “We are going to generate 1,000 jobs per local government every year,” he said.

On power supply, the PRP candidate said his administration would take advantage of the constitutional provision that allows states to generate electricity.

“We are going to ensure that in our four years in government, Ekiti State will have 24-hour uninterrupted electricity supply,” he said.

He also promised to prioritise youth employment and women empowerment, while establishing innovation and technology hubs to drive economic growth.

In the education sector, Ayodele said his administration would focus on practical learning to make graduates economically productive.

“We want to move Ekiti from just knowing to doing. Our education system must produce people who are not only knowledgeable but economically buoyant,” he said.

He further noted that the capital city must reflect the status of a modern state capital.

“We don’t want a state that goes to sleep by 7 o’clock. We want a state that is economically vibrant 24 hours of the day. Ado-Ekiti must become a befitting state capital with the infrastructure to match,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, the National Secretary of the party, Mr. Babatunde Alli, said the PRP is guided by a clearly defined ideological foundation.

According to him, the party operates with 33 programmes and five core principles, which form the basis of its manifesto and policy direction.
