Rebuttal:Tinubu’s Record Of Reform Vs. Dan Sabi’s Delusional Whining

Comrade Dan Sabi’s rant reeks of cheap theatrics and willful blindness.While he peddles dystopian fiction for relevance, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is rebuilding Nigeria’s foundations with courageous reforms and measurable results.

Follow me as we pick on his points for clearance:

1.Fuel Subsidy Removal: “Pain with Purpose”.

Sabi calls subsidy removal “careless,” but Tinubu redirected the savings to critical needs. As the Presidency confirmed:“Trillions of naira once lost to subsidy payments are now redirected to vital infrastructure, education, and social welfare”.

Today we have the real deregulation which other advanced countries practice working well.Now we have Dangote with many to come competing with the NNPLC.

Foreign reserves jumped from $3.99 billion to $23.11 billion, proving funds weren’t wasted.

2. Economy: From Decline to Growth: 

Sabi claims Nigeria is “poorer than Sudan,” but the facts disagree. Tinubu’s reforms attracted “over $50 billion in new Foreign Direct Investment commitments” and “$80 billion in oil and gas investments”. 

The economy grew by 3.84% in late 2024—Nigeria’s best performance in three years .  

3. Security: Results Over Rumors:

While Sabi says killings are “daily occurrences,” military reports show “over 13,500 terrorists eliminated” and “8,000+ kidnap victims rescued in 2024 alone” . Bandit hotspots like Benue now see targeted operations, not government inaction .  

4. Infrastructure: Building Tomorrow’s Nigeria:

Critics mock “empty coffers,” but the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is creating “200,000+ jobs” and will add “$12 billion annually to GDP”. Over 440 road projects are underway nationwide, including upgrades to the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway .  

5. Youth Empowerment: Actions, Not Words:

Sabi claims the “middle class is eliminated,” yet 300,000+ students got education loans, and 900,000+ Nigerians received business grants . A new National Credit Guarantee Company is launching to support small businesses .  

6. Political Reforms: Democracy in Action:

Sabi whines about a “one-party state,” but Tinubu clarified:“Don’t blame a people bailing out a sinking ship… Freedom of movement and association are not criminally punishable” . The Supreme Court also affirmed local government autonomy, strengthening democracy.  

From these few points Sabi’s rant ignores verifiable progress. As Tinubu put it:“The hope is standing before you—take it on”. 

If activism feels “unprofitable,” maybe it’s time Sabi heeds his own advice: “dust your certificates and find a real job.” Nigeria is moving forward—with or without his drama.
