Rivers people in diaspora, under the auspices of the Concerned Indigenes of Rivers State residing abroad has cautioned the Distractors of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State just as they also condemned the plots targeting towards impeaching him.

The Group, Collective Of Concerned Indigenes of Rivers State residing abroad in a press release jointly signed by  Johnson Eke Wise and Margaret Ijeoma Otti are deeply alarmed by recent developments that threatens the stability and progress of the people of Rivers  State.

They expressed their worries on the level of information at their disposal, revealing that certain individuals, both within and outside the government of Rivers State, are conspiring to create political unrest within the State.

Continuing, they said, “the sinister agenda of the distractors is to sow discord between the esteemed Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, and his mentor, Barrister Nyesom Wike.

In view of the above developments in the State, coupled with their credible intelligence sources, the Group pointed out that the ultimate goal of the distractors was to initiate impeachment proceedings against the Governor.

The Group added, that, “they have learned that these conspirators are actively attempting to sway members of the State House of Assembly to support their nefarious objectives.

The Concerned Indigenes of Rivers State residing abroad however warned that any endeavour to divert Governor Fubara from his unwavering commitment to good governance in Rivers State will encounter formidable legal opposition. “We are also prepared to mobilize peaceful protests of unprecedented magnitude, setting a new standard for opposition resistance in Nigeria”.

The Group reminded the people that as concerned citizens of the State, and as advocates / agitators of the Niger Delta region, they will continue to recognize the legitimate demands for what rightfully belongs to the people.

“If these subversive actions persist, we may have no choice but to engage our fellow Niger Delta brothers and sisters to put an end to the injustices being perpetrated in our state.

“To our dear Governor, we urge you to press forward with your remarkable efforts in the service of Rivers State. Also, we urged you to be rest assured that Rivers people, both at home and abroad, will not idly standby while nefarious forces seek to undermine our progress”.

They used the opportunity to commend everyone who has supported the cause of justice and equity in Rivers State.

Meanwhile, in a letter to the former State governor, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike, the members of the group which includes Johnson Eke Wise (Spain), Margaret Ijeoma Otti (Chicago, USA), Gregory Otabil (Texas, USA),

Sylvester Dokubo (Manchester, UK), Patient Jibnoh (Spain) and Kaine Briggs (Maryland, USA) urged him to remain focused considering his antecedents.

They described his political journey as a very remarkable one starting from the time he was a local government Chairman, Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Minister of State, and eventually as the substantive Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the group in their letter to the former Governor Wike, they rated his tenure as one that attracted an unprecedented development to Rivers  State.

Advising him, they called on him to caution his current role as the FCT Minister.

They urged him to carefully tread considering the complex nature of his terrain at Abuja as FCT Minister.

“Our intention is not to discourage you from carrying out your duties but to emphasize that this role might lead to gathering more adversaries than allies. We hope you will not be overwhelmed by the challenges you may face. We pray for God’s guidance in your endeavors, acknowledging that you have always been blessed with His grace.

“They urged him not to deploy the grace he has received from God in a way that might disgrace others. The word “grace” carries immense significance, and it is essential to exercise it judiciously and with humility”.

Continuing, they stated, “Back at home, we are aware of your pivotal role in the election of Sir Siminalayi Fubara as the governor, and we commend your commitment to continuity and progress, akin to Asiwaju Bola Amed Tinubu’s approach in Lagos. It is vital that you maintain a positive relationship with the current Governor, your anointed successor, who is loyal and reliable.

“We have sent emissaries to gather information, and we are aware that certain individuals with ill intentions may be concocting stories to create discord. We earnestly request that you do not allow such divisive elements to undermine the harmony between you and the Governor.

“In the event of any differences or conflicts of interest, please consider open dialogue and involve respected elders like Sir Peter Odili and His Highness Sergent Awuse, who can mediate and help find common ground. Remember that you hold a significant stake in the state’s political landscape due to your future political aspirations.

“In closing, we offer our counsel with the utmost sincerity and look forward to further communication as we monitor developments in our beloved state. Your dedication to progress and unity is commendable, and we remain Yours in Progress”.
