Scavenger Allegedly Burgles Shop In Ekiti

A displaced scavenger from Oke-Bola/Atikankan area of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital, Ibrahim Umar who hailed from Katsina State, and residing at Oke-Bola Street in Ado Ekiti has burgled a house located at lrekanmi street, Aba lyamedi area, off llawe Road in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, 27th of November, 2024. 

According to the press release made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, the Head of Communications Department of Ekiti State Amotekun Corps, Officer Adeleye Abiodun Adewale, revealed that “the suspect broke into the house of one Mr. Gbadura Oluwasola at the said location, lrekanmi street, Aba lyamedi area, off llawe Road, Ado-Ekiti and carted away his home appliances such as stabilizer, home theater, DVD, generator engine, refrigerator gas engine, as well as power bank and phone”.

Luck was said to have ran out on him when he was apprehended by the operatives of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps parading the area and maintained law and order. 

He has since been handed over to the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, of the Ekiti State Police Command in Ado Ekiti with all the exhibits recovered from him for investigations. 

In a similar development, a 50 years old man, Ojo Oluwafemi has also been arrested in Efon Alaaye for burgling four shops located near Idagba roundabout on Tuesday. 

Interrogating him, he confessed committing the crime and equally revealed, how he always burgled shops between the hours of 4:00am and 5:00am and returns home with stolen items to enjoy with his family.

He has however been arrested and handed over to the Police in Efon Alaaye for further investigations.
