Senate Committee Chair Visits Ekiti NYSC Orientation Camp 

…Offers To Build An Ultra – Modern Hall

The Senate Committee Chairman on Youth and Community Engagement at the National Assembly in Abuja, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, on Friday visited the NYSC Orientation Camp at Ise Orun/Emure Ekiti Camp, offering his readiness to build for them an ultra – modern hall, which would serve as the state-of-the-art facilities. 

Senator Yemi Adaramodu, a member of the current Nigerian Senate, representing the Ekiti South Senatorial District stated the above during his visit to the NYSC Ekiti State Permanent Orientation Camp as part of his special oversights functions of his Committee. 

Senator Adaramodu who was in company of his colleagues, took time to applaud the resilience and long overdue patience of the NYSC in the State and the commitments of Corps members to the course, irrespective of the state of infrastructure in the camp. 

Sharing his experiences as a corp member, Adaramodu said, “the NYSC remains a key driver for reliance, hence the need to take advantage of every opportunity it has to offer”.

Also, speaking at the meeting, Alhaji Riko Shuaibu, the NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator, while appreciating the Senator’s historic visit, made his State-of-Camp report, presenting particularly, the issues of limitations being faced by the scheme in the State, thereby appealing for speedy administrative and infrastructural interventions in key areas for the wholesome wellbeing of Corp members and staff.

Senator Yemi Adaramodu, reacting to the Coordinator’s report, thanked the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for his timely response and immediate infrastructural aid, as well as the Coordinator’s relentless, continuous diplomatic engagement of relevant quarters on issues of great concern.

Furthemore, Senator Adaramodu promised all capital needs of the scheme will be subsumed for appropriation upon Senate resumption, while announcing immediate relocation of NYSC Ekiti State Secretariat, Solar electrification project in the camp, Personal Donation of 250 seats, 250 mattresses for corps and staff welfare, public employment and academic empowerments for notable corps members in camp.

The visit was greatly witnessed by the National Assembly delegation, Senator Kenneth Emeka Eze, Senator Wasiu Eshilokun, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon Adedayo Gold Adesola, Camp officials and political support groups.
