The President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has this evening filed his reply to the petition filed by the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, challenging the result of the just concluded presidential election.
The President-Elect, in his reply by his team of lawyers led by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, queried Mr. Obi’s locus standi to present the petition, as according to him, he himself was not qualified to contest the election, as his name was missing on the Register of members submitted by Labour Party to INEC 30 days before the election.
Tinubu also pointed out that Mr. Obi deliberately misrepresented that a criminal forfeiture order was made by the US District Court, pursuant to 18 USC 982, when in fact, no such order was made or criminal jurisdiction exercised by the court.
