The police cautioned that anyone found engaging in acts capable of causing tension, violence, or a breakdown of law and order before, during, or after the elections would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

In the advisory, the Command urged community members, candidates, supporters, and other interested parties to exercise restraint and respect the decisions of constituted authorities throughout the election process.

It emphasized that grievances or disputes arising from the elections should be addressed through lawful and established channels rather than self-help.

The police noted that town union elections play a critical role in promoting grassroots leadership and community development across Anambra State.

To guarantee the safety of lives and property, the Command disclosed that it would deploy adequate personnel and resources to strategic locations in communities where elections are scheduled.

The police added that they are working in collaboration with other security agencies to maintain a strong security presence throughout the period.

The police also called on traditional rulers, town union executives, elders, youth leaders, and other stakeholders to work closely with security agencies to promote peace and ensure the successful conduct of the elections.

Reaffirming its commitment to public safety, the Anambra State Police Command assured residents that it remains fully prepared to maintain peace and security throughout the Yuletide season and beyond, while appealing to citizens to cooperate with security agencies to keep the state peaceful.
