The clash between traders and Amotekun Officers in Ado Ekiti has led to the loss of one life with many others injured just as the Police has been brought to intervene in the crisis and calm the situation.
Further facts gathered by Treasure Newspaper from the Roundoffnews report revealed that two persons have been allegedly shot by an officer of the Amotekun corps in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital on Thursday morning.
One of the victims was said to have died on the spot while the second person has been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
More investigations conducted further revealed that two officers of the Amotekun corps were seriously attacked in an attempt to relocate the Hausa traders from the ‘Atikankan’ area to the new location provided by the government at the Agric Olope area of the State Capital were resisted by them.
It was gathered that some of the traders who were not ready to obey the new policy attacked the Amotekun officer and in the process it was alleged that one of the officers opened fire at them.
At the moment, the area has been taken over by armed policemen to avert further crisis.
The Ekiti State Police Command and the Ekiti State Amotekun corps are yet to react or speak on the matter as of the time of filing this report.
