… Calls For Participation In Ongoing Continuous Voters Registration Exercise

The Resident Electoral Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Ekiti State, Dr Bunmi Omoseyindeni has pledged the readiness of his leadership to checkmate fraud ahead of the govenroship election in the State in 2026.
He also called for more participation by the people of Ekiti State for the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration exercise in the State.
Speaking with members of the Online Media Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council in his office recently, the Ekiti INEC REC, Dr Bunmi Omoseyindeni stated that the commission has commenced the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, which includes fresh registration, correction of personal details, replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and transfer of voters registrations.
The INEC REC also highlighted some important dates of the election activities, which includes the Party Primaries election, October 20 – November 10, 2025, Submission of Nomination Forms, November 28 – December 27, 2025.

Also, he revealed that the publication of final list of Candidates has been scheduled on January 18, 2026.
The commencement of campaigns is dated January 21, 2026 and the election day is scheduled on June 20, 2026.
The REC emphasized the importance of educating the public on the difference between endorsement and campaign, as many people are not politically conscious.

He also highlighted the role of journalists in informing, educating, and enlightening the public to avoid crisis.
He assured that INEC has put in place mechanisms to checkmate fraudsters attempting to register with fake documents.
Also, he said, the commission is working to ensure a credible, transparent, and inclusive electoral process.

The INEC REC assured that the commission is committed to conducting a free, fair, and credible election ahead of the 2026 poll.
