Dr Wole Oluyede”s triumphant entrance to Ekiti today via Ikere Ekiti, his home town is a repeat of what happened to the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose in 2014 after he was presented with the certificate of return by the national working committee of the Peoples Democratic Party. Ayo Fayose landed at Amoye Grammarians School in a private helicopter.

He briefly addressed the people of Ikere Ekiti, opposite Amoye Grammar School before leaving for the party secretariat at Ajilosun, Ado Ekiti for the presentation of the certificate of return which marked the beginning of his return to Ekiti State Government House, Oke Ayaba.
He eventually became the Governor of Ekiti State for another four years through massive votes across the Sixteen Local Governments of the State.
Oluyede is not new in the field of Ekiti politics.
He has been actively involved prior to the first term of the former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr John Kayode Fayemi.

He is familiar with the terrain having contested at the APC gubernatorial primary in 2018.
He was the gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress in 2022. This has given him the ample opportunity to go round the Sixteen Local Governments in the state to seek for votes.
This time around, he is the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party with more wider and strong structure, having won the party primary on November 8, 2025 in a clean, clear and acceptable contest against other aspirants within the party.

He is to slog it out with the candidates of other parties in the gubernatorial election slated for June 20, 2026.
Having won the gubernatorial primary of the Peoples Democratic Party on November 8, 2025 with wide merging to defeat other aspirants. The need to officially present the certificate of return to him as the candidate of the party was fixed for December 10, 2025.
The Sheu Musa Yar Adua Hall, Abuja was filled with capacity with the National Working Committee of the party in attendance, the state chairmen, National Assembly members, former National Assembly members, former Governors, former Ministers, party loyalists, captain of industry and well wishers.

The official presentation by the Taminu Turaki SAN led National Working Committee presented the certificate of return to Oluyede.
This took a new dimension with Ekiti contingent to Abuja turned the Sheu Musa Yar Adua hall to another carnival like where Dr Wole Oluyede and wife, Kemi Oluyede danced to the admiration of the people in appreciation.
This is a rare show of home support telling the party in Abuja that he has home support and he is ready to coast home to victory for the PDP.

The PDP contingent that attended the ceremony at Abuja from Ekiti State in eight hummer busses took off from hotel where they lodged as early as 6 am, set for Ekiti by road in order to meet up with the presentation of the certificate of return by Oluyede to the people of Ekiti State through the Ekiti PDP.
At about 2 pm today, Akure Airport stood still for Oluyede, wife and other party leaders when the plane touched down with a share of joy by another set of contingent from Ekiti to receive them. Without much time, Oluyede”s entourage moved to Ikere Ekiti in a convoy.
The “Omoluabi” of Ikere Ekiti had a brief stop over at opposite Amoye Grammar School before moving to Ikere Ekiti junction where he addressed the marmot crowd.

While addressing the people of Ikere Ekiti, Oluyede had this to say: “I am not surprised at seeing this crowd here in Ikere today. I’m told that majority of you have been here since morning waiting to receive me. My humble background here coupled with my family”s fame.
I mean my immediate family here in Ikere Ekiti have been sources of joy to me which I urge you to transform this into votes for me, come next year June 20.
I will be holding the position of the Governor in trust on behalf of the people of Ekiti State next year by the special grace of God which I promise to be a servant leader”.

The mammoth crowd in a motor cade moved to Ado Ekiti.
Right away from Ikere Ekiti passing through Fagbohun, Ajebandele to Bamigboye, the office of the PDP was jam-packed.
The traffic was not easy for the security personnel to control because Ekiti people wanted to witness the triumphant entrance of the candidate of the PDP. People came out to wait in front of their houses, shops at both dual carried way to wave their hands to welcome Oluyede back to Ekiti.

At the PDP secretariat, party leaders across the Sixteen Local Governments, artisans, students, different ethnic groups, market women, young and old were visibly elated to receive Oluyede”s entourage with fun fare.
Ankara and T shirts uniform adorned in PDP inscription having Oluyede”s portrait which were wore littered the streets.
The state secretary of the party, Kole Abiodun in a brief welcome address congratulated the party”s candidate and his amiable wife and prayed for his victory at the next year poll.

The party scribe used the occasion to inform the gathering that Oluyede would use the opportunity to present the certificate of return to Ekiti people.
In his solidarity message, the former chairman of Ado Ekiti Local Government, Deji Ogunsakin curiously asked: “They say, PDP is dead. Can you see the crowd here now? This is the end of APC in Ekiti State. You are the next Governor of Ekiti State come 2026 by the special grace of God”.
A former member of the National Assembly, Senator Duro Faseyi asked God to take final control. According to him, “This is the Lord’s doing”. He charged party members to go home and continue to spread the gospel of Oluyede to Ekiti people.

The former Special Assistant to the former Governor, Ayo Fayose on stomach infrastructure, Sunday Anifowose aka Sunshine praised Ekiti PDP for the candidature of Oluyede and continued with the popular song: “APC is small to PDP”. He urged members to begin to work for the success of the party.
Former Women Leader, South West, Mrs Adesoro congratulated the party and the candidate. She assured of women support through their votes.
In his own solidarity message, the South West Publicly Secretary of the party, Chief Sanya Atofarati appreciated God for the intervention. “On behalf of the South West of the PDP, please tell Governor Biodun Oyebanji to begin to write his handover note”. He declared.

Another former member of the National Assembly, Segun Adekola expressed displeasure over the unfriendly and hardship situation in Ekiti due to the maladministration of APC government. He urged the electorates to vote against Ekiti APC in the forthcoming election.
The representative of the Hausa community in Ekiti State, Alhaji Musa Kanga asserted: “Insha Allah, Oluyede will be Governor of Ekiti State in 2026 and Hausa community is solemnly behind him”.

In his own solidarity message, Yusuf Jamiu, representative of Ibira community also assured the party of their support to Dr Wole Oluyede at the poll.
The chairman of the party, Rt Honourable Tunji Odeyemi who was visibly elated saying, “whoever that watched the screen yesterday must have seen the various dignitaries that attended the official presentation of the certificate of return to Dr Wole Oluyede at the Sheu Musa Yar Adua Hall”.
The candidate”s wife, Mrs Kemi Oluyede thanked Ekiti people especially women for their unflinching support and urged them to continue in that direction.

In his own message, Dr Wole Oluyede thanked the party and the people of Ekiti State for the unalloyed support demonstrated so far.
“Today is a day of joy. Some people say we are not going to have candidate for this election but I am here presenting myself and my certificate of return to you as the PDP gubernatorial candidate and you know a party right here in this Ekiti, up till now has no gubernatorial candidate with no certificate of return”.
Oluyede charged party members and the people of Ekiti to register for the ongoing permanent voter card.

The episode of 2014 has resurfaced again where Ekiti electorate chose in between progress and retrogress. They were so determined to have a change of government and with resilience and determination, it came to reality.
This time around, the spread of the gospel according to Oluyede of the PDP has started. The hardship faced by the Ekiti electorate under the present insensitive government has further made Ekiti people to prepare for a change of government through their votes come June 20, 2026.
The talk of the towns and villages in Ekiti now is that whoever appears on the ballot paper of Independent National Electoral Commission that represents the APC as gubernatorial candidate for the June 20, 2026 gubernatorial election, be it Biodun Oyebanji or another person will fail.

The triumphant entry of Dr Wole Oluyede of the PDP to Ekiti State today is a red card to Ekiti APC.
The party doesn’t need any psalmist, gainsayer, stargazer or soothsayer to wish the APC and incumbent Governor Oyebanji a good bye in the governance of Ekiti State right from October 16, 2026 through popular and majority votes to Oluyede of the PDP as a sharp reaction to a non performing Governor.
