FUTESI: Allegations Of Land Grabbing Against My Throne, Fake, Malicious – Oluyin

The Oluyin In Council, headed by His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeniyi Ajakaye III, the Oluyin of Iyin- Ekiti Kingdom, has described the land grabbing allegations levied against his throne and others, like the Distinguished Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele by one Dr Sunday Oyeyemi as fake and malicious.

He also described the claim as a cheap propaganda aimed at distracting and sabotaging the citing of the Federal University Of Technology and Environmental Sciences in the town.

The Oluyin -In-Council rising from it’s meeting on Thursday, 31st July, 2025 held at Iyin’s Palace; frowned at the fake and unverified media reports in circulation regarding the University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin Ekiti.

The leadership of Iyin Ekiti traditional institution berated the role played by one Dr Oyeyemi in respect of the negative media reports as well as the unnecessary protests he engineered against the progress of the Iyin Ekiti community as a whole.

Corroborating the earlier stand, the Head of Okelawe Quarters, High Chief Olubobokun Ibikunle assured that those currently formenting trouble in the town, and whose farms have been ceded for the Federal University would soon be compensated.

Equally, the representatives of the Awolu, Ajana and the Elemo families whose land were also acquired, called on Dr Sunday Oyeyemi to further desist from tarnishing the image of the family as well as that of the community, considering the resolutions already made, to the knowledge of Chief Ganiyu Badmus, who doubled as the Adamo of Okelawe quarters.

In addition, the Okelawe community in a joint press release, signed and made available to newsmen in collaboration with the Palace Media, distanced selves from any further action by Dr. Sunday Oyeyemi in an attempt to disturb the progress of the town.

The palace in it’s press release also explained that efforts has been made to amicably resolve the issues through dialogue for more than six consecutive times.

The palace also reminded the parties in the matter on the need to determine the worth of the crops planted on the land to ascertain the cost implications for compensation that would be paid to the land and farm owners.

“We encourage all noble sons and daughters of Iyin Ekiti to please seek the facts, verify, and propagate across all platforms. Let us save the University of Technology and Environmental Sciences from interests that do not align with the development of our community.” The statement concluded.
