The management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, has suspended all signing-out ceremonies and related celebrations on its campus over security concerns.

The decision, which takes immediate effect, was contained in a statement issued by the University’s Registrar, Mrs. Grace Babalola, who said the action was taken by the Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the Senate.

According to the statement, the suspension was necessitated by prevailing security concerns and the need to protect lives and property within the university community.

By the directive, final-year students and other members of the university community are prohibited from organising or participating in signing-out parties, gatherings, processions and other forms of celebrations associated with the completion of academic programmes anywhere on the university campus.

The university warned that any student or group found violating the directive would face appropriate disciplinary action in line with the institution’s regulations.

The management restated its commitment to maintaining peace and order on campus, urging students to comply strictly with the order and go about their academic activities in a lawful manner.
