EKSU Sets To Confer On Two Alumni Members Honorary Awards At 30th Convocation

The Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, EKSU, is set to confer an honorary award of the institution on two of its Alumni Association Members at its 30th Convocation Ceremony activities kicked off with press conference held on Tuesday at the Senate Chamber, Glass House at the main University campus in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Addressing the press conference on Tuesday, the Vice Chancellor of the Ekiti State University, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, announced the decision of the State University to honour Mr Abayomi Adeyeri and Mr Akinsanmi Falaki as Doctor of Finance, honoris causa of the great institution.
He revealed that the approval for the honour was expressly given by both the University’s Senate and Governing Council considering the role of the two in the development and growth of the institution as well as their imparts at the fields of endeavor and career.
Also, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Babatola highlighting the activities for the 30th Convocation Ceremony, said, the immediately after the press conference, the Convocation Play will hold by 2:00 pm at the main auditorium of the institution.
Adding, Professor Babatola stated that, “on Wednesday, April 8th, 2026; the Convocation Lecture will hold with the title – ‘Power, Responsibility and Stewardship: Balancing The Barricade With Governance’ and to be delivered by Professor Ayodeji Oludare Omole, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso who is also double as the Chairman of Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State – Owned University by 12:00 noon at the main auditorium of the institution.
“Continuing, by the evening of the same Wednesday, there will be an Evening with the Vice Chancellor and Awards of Excellence in Research and Sports by 4:00 pm at the 3000-seater Lecture Hall of the institution.
“On Thursday, April 9th, 2026, there will be a Debate by 10:00 am at the Institution’s main auditorium; by 1:00 pm, a convocation meeting will hold at the same venue and by 4:00 pm, the Alumni Dinner of the institution will hold at the Alumni Village.
“By Friday, April 10th, 2026, the 30th Convocation Award of Sub-Degree, First Degree and Presentation of Prizes will hold at the main auditorium of the university campus by 10:00 am.
“On the final day, which is Saturday, April 11th, 2026; there will be a conferment of Post Graduate Diploma, Masters, Doctorate and Honorary Degrees at the main university’s main auditorium by 10:00 am”.
