The Kwara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed Senator Bukola Saraki for denying link to the Offa robbery case, where 33 innocent citizens were killed at the time, declaring that there won’t be any escape for him.

Reacting to the recent press statement of Senator Bukola Saraki and that of the People’s Democratic Party in Kwara State, who accused Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of a “surreptitious plot” over charges filed against Saraki and three others in the tragic 2018 Offa robbery case; the Kwara APC through the statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Olawale Babatunde said, “no one with clean hands needs to worry. Courts rely on evidence and facts, not theatrical denials that rewrite history”.

Continuing, Abdulwaheed added that, “instead of childish personal attacks, Saraki should face his trial and let the court decide his guilt or innocence.

His denial of links to the murderers rings hollow amid overwhelming evidence”.

Testimonies from the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Yusuf Abdulwahab, and one Ayo Akinnibosun showed how they were contradicted, trusting the court to review them when proceedings resume in June. Beyond that, anyone who lived through those times knows his claims don’t hold water.

Abdulwaheed expressed how amusing it is for Saraki, a distrusted figure with a poor integrity record, now reduced to a lapdog for another politician, had dared claim a high-performing governor lacks popularity. Kwarans see the difference, as real development under AbdulRazaq versus the stagnation of Saraki’s era.

We commend the state government for boldly prosecuting Saraki despite his boasts. Court records show the convicts naming him as the source of their guns and logistics. This trial is timely, as Nigerians demand exposure of sponsors behind criminals, terrorists, and bandits. Suspicious patterns like PDP foot soldiers quickly reporting ongoing attacks only fuel the questions.

Prosecuting him is the state’s sacred duty; conviction or acquittal is the court’s call. But no one should stoke sentiments for a man infamous for funding “good boys” who terrorized Kwara for years.

Governor AbdulRazaq Stays Focused on Governance.

While PDP rehashes 2018 rhetoric, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq builds schools, constructs roads, funds rural infrastructure, upgrades healthcare, and pays salaries and pensions promptly. This progress irks Saraki and PDP because it rejects treasury looting or arming thugs who rob innocents.

Law Trumps Press Statements

With formal charges filed, Saraki must explain himself in court—not on Facebook or in the media. PDP should urge him to clear his name judicially, not through panic-inducing statements aimed at intimidating institutions. No one is above the law; media noise won’t derail justice.

We urge Kwara PDP and Saraki to ditch tragedy exploitation for real campaign ideas. Kwarans are too wise to return to an era of government as a private fiefdom.

The APC government in Kwara prioritizes security, development, and justice. We won’t be distracted or intimidated by Saraki’s rants.
