Ikogosi Community Boosts Oyebanji’s 2026 Campaign With N25m

… Holds Solidarity Rally

Ahead of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s local government campaign tour starting Monday, his hometown Ikogosi-Ekiti staged a massive solidarity rally on Saturday and presented N25 million to his Campaign Council.

Residents, traditional chiefs, youth groups, drivers’ unions, market women, and APC chieftains converged on the town square in branded T-shirts and caps, singing and dancing in support of the Governor’s re-election bid.

Presenting the cheque to Campaign DG Senator Cyril Fasuyi, Ikogosi Progressive Union President Chief Olusola Agbaje said the donation reflects the community’s appreciation for Oyebanji’s performance in the last three and a half years. 

He cited the restoration of electricity after 15 years of blackout and major infrastructure upgrades that have revived social and economic life in the town.

“The N25 million shows the world that Governor Oyebanji has strong home support,” Agbaje said. “All Ikogosi voters will back him on June 20, 2026, and do same for the President in January 2027.”

Planning committee chairman Engr. Tayo Olajubu described Oyebanji as a leader devoted to the welfare of Ekiti people, adding that residents are ready with their PVCs to re-elect him.

Senator Fasuyi thanked the community and urged them to mobilize across Ekiti West LGA for a landslide victory. He assured that more dividends of good governance await in a second term.

Chief of Staff Mr. Niyi Adebayo said the gesture proves the Governor enjoys “amazing home support” and called the coming election “a walkover.”

Dignitaries present included LG Service Commission Chairman Chief Alaba Bejide, LG Commissioner Chief Folorunso Olabode, Special Adviser on Political Matters Chief Jide Awe, SA Media Mr. Yinka Oyebode, DG Community Communication Mrs. Mary Omotoso, and Ekameta LCDA Chairman Dr. Leye Adeniji.
