Olanipekun Gifts Ekiti Ultra-Modern Maternity Complex

The Ekiti State Government has applauded the renowned lawyer, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, for gifting the state an ultra-modern maternity facility, the NewsCruse Mother and Child Maternity Complex, saying it will significantly improve healthcare delivery in Ikere-Ekiti and beyond.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji made the remarks on Tuesday at the official commissioning and handover of the complex at the State Specialist Hospital, Ikere-Ekiti.

Describing Olanipekun as a “benefactor, father figure, and one of Ekiti’s greatest ambassadors,” Oyebanji noted that the senior advocate’s interventions in health, education, and community development continue to touch lives across the state.

“You can’t pass through Ikere or Ado without seeing Chief Olanipekun’s footprints — from the Nigerian Bar Association to churches, hospitals, and other institutions across Ekiti,” the governor said.

Oyebanji stated that the new complex will expand access to quality maternal and child health services for residents of Ikere-Ekiti and surrounding communities.

In his remarks, Chief Olanipekun said real success is measured by service to humanity.

He explained that the project was motivated by a desire to give back to his hometown and support improved healthcare delivery.

He also called on political leaders and stakeholders in Ikere-Ekiti to unite for the town’s development, noting that progress demands sacrifice and collective commitment.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, represented by Prof. Kolawole Ogundipe, CMD of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti, described the facility as a major contribution to maternal and child healthcare in Nigeria.

Dignitaries at the event praised the gesture.

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa called it “philanthropy at its best,” while former Osun State Governor Bisi Akande described the complex as an enduring investment in humanity.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, hailed Olanipekun as a blessing to society, citing his consistent contributions to national development.
