Tanfeani was arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of Ezekiel Olapade, who was killed around the premises of Irepodun Local Government last Sunday.

In a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment in Osun State, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi on Monday; Governor Adeleke charged the police to intensify the manhunt for other suspects still at large, naming Asiri Eniba, Delaw, Ojuyobo, Aleba, Lucifer, Lasisi and others allegedly terrorising the state.

The governor urged the police to ensure a thorough investigation and diligent prosecution of the suspect, identified in the statement as Saheed Tanfeani and Akilapa.

Adeleke also renewed his call for a change in the leadership of the State Police Anti-Cultism Unit, describing the continued stay of one Eluku as head of the team as “a dark spot” over alleged identification with Asiri Eniba and other APC thugs.

“The arrest of Saheed and Akilapa is a good development. We are watching to see how far the police will prove its readiness to enforce the law and secure our people. For now, we thank the IGP, the Deputy Inspector General of Police and others who make this possible,” the governor was quoted as saying.
