The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has announced the delivery of two DA42 MNG Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft procured by his administration to strengthen security operations in the state.

Governor Makinde, who disclosed this today on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, said the aircraft will be deployed for security surveillance and reconnaissance missions across Oyo State.

According to the Governor, the two light aircraft are equipped with sophisticated surveillance gadgets capable of identifying targets from high and low altitudes, and will provide wide aerial coverage, especially along border corridors often exploited by criminal elements.

He expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Air Force for its technical support and guidance throughout the procurement process, noting that the state acquired the platforms after consultations with the NAF to ensure access to maintenance support, engineering expertise and pilot training.

The Governor added that his administration looks forward to continued collaboration with the Air Force to secure Oyo State and the nation at large.
