The Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Ekiti State Chapter, Hon. Musa Arogundade, has disowned reports of a newly inaugurated State Executive Committee, describing the claim as false, null and void.

In a press release issued in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, September 3, 2026, and made available to Treasure Newspaper on Friday morning, Arogundade said his attention was drawn to a statement dated September 2, 2026, which stated that a new State EXCO was inaugurated on September 1 under his supervision.

He stated categorically that no such inauguration took place.

“For the purpose of clarity and to set the records straight, I, Honourable Musa Arogundade, am the affirmed and duly recognized State Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Ekiti State Chapter. The so-called inauguration of a new EXCO purported to have taken place on 1st September 2026 under my supervision is false, null and void. It never happened and cannot happen,” he said.

According to him, the State Executive Committee elected at the State Congress held on May 18, 2026, remains intact and legitimate, with the only vacancy being the office of the State Treasurer, who resigned on personal grounds.

Arogundade disclosed that the national leadership of the party has contacted him to ascertain the true situation in the state.

He also disowned the individual who signed the earlier statement as Publicity Secretary, saying the person had been repeatedly warned to stop parading himself as the PRO of the party in Ekiti State.

“His actions are misleading, unauthorized, and constitute a breach of party discipline,” he said.

He released the authentic list of the 32-member State Executive Committee elected on May 18, 2026, with Hon. Mrs. Wendy Obi as substantive Publicity Secretary, Akinlade Deji as Deputy Chairman and Hon. Falade Daf Tayo as Secretary, among others.

He called on members, leaders and supporters of the party across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state to remain calm and united, urging them not to be distracted by “agents of confusion.”

“Ekiti State NDC is ONE and UNITED. We must increase our tempo in our collective quest to win all elective positions in the coming 2027 general elections,” he added.
