By Joseph Sunday
Dr Joe Okei Odumakin, President of Women Arise, has paid glowing tribute to the late Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, describing his passing as the exit of the last titan at 100.
In her tribute statement on Tuesday and made available to Treasure Newspaper on Wednesday, Okei-Odumakin said Pa Fasoranti, an Awoist to the core, teacher, patriot and NADECO fighter, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, in Akure, at the glorious age of 100.
“Born on May 11, 1926 in Uso, he lived through colonial rule, independence, military dictatorships and 27 years of uninterrupted democracy, and never shifted from principle,” she said.
She described the late Yoruba leader’s 100 years on earth as a century of wisdom, integrity and selfless service to Yorubaland and Nigeria.
“Sun re o, Baba. Your footprints of honour will remain indelible,” Okei-Odumakin submitted.
