A Chieftain of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Mr. Biodun Alasoluyi has begged voters / electorates in Ekiti State to get their Permanent Voters Card, PVC, ready ahead of the 2023 polls in Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.
The Ekiti State SDP Chieftain, Mr. Biodun Alasoluyi stated the above while responding to questions from pressmen as regards the 2023 Presidential election which is already drawing nearer.
Alasoluyi speaking further told the leadership of the Social Democratic Party; SDP in Ekiti State, to ensure the members of the Party and all the eligible voters in the State gets their Permanent Voters Card; PVC to be able to elect all the candidates of the party during the presidential and national assembly polls scheduled for February 25, 2023.
The Social Democratic Chieftain, SDP, made the call in Ado-Ekiti at a political meeting where he declared his support for Mr. Toyin Obayemi who is contesting for Ekiti Central Constituency 1 seat in the House of Representatives comprising Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Governments under the SDP.
Mr Alasoluyi noted that Nigerians were tired of the APC led administration hence the need for Nigerians to vote for all candidates of SDP in order for the Country to witness the desired social economic development.
According to him, Nigerians have never experienced this unwarranted situation since the country got its independence from colonial master.
“It is time for all Nigerians to use their voter cards to redesign the destination of the nation, how can country blessed with human and natural resources be wallowing in abject poverty to the extent that the productive generations of her citizens are traveling abroad for greener pastures and the government is unmoved”.
Mr Alasoluyi appealed to members of SDP in Ekiti state to continue to mobilize themselves and come out in their large numbers on the election day to cast their votes for all the candidates of Social Democratic Party.
The SDP bigwig charged them not to succumb to intimidation and harrassment which is what some moneybag politicians in the state are known for, stating that such an act will be resisted by the people during the forthcoming election.
Mr Alasoluyi explained that people were ready to decide and shape the future of Nigeria, saying vote buying and other malpractice would be resisted by Nigerians during the poll.
He promised to continue to be of support to the Social Democratic party in Ekiti state for all the candidates on the platform to emerge victorious on the election day.
In a remark, Mr. Toyin Obayemi who is contesting for Ekiti Central Constituency 1 seat in the House of Representatives comprising Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Governments on the platform of Social Democratic Party solicited for the votes of constituents, saying if eventually emerge, he will perform excellently by bringing dividend of democracy to them.
