Delta Police Command Neutralizes One Suspected Kidnapper, Rescued Victim …….. Recovers One Locally Made Cut To Size Gun ………Also Arrest Suspected Armed Robber / Cultist / Recovers Seven Locally Made Cut To Size Guns, Cartridge

The Delta State Police Command, Ozoro Division led by CSP Ogedengbe Areguamen has nabbed one of the suspected kidnappers, Oghene Fajiro who kidnapped one man whose name was withheld in a Toyota Corolla car.

One of the suspected kidnappers, Oghene Fejiro ‘m’ who was 27yrs of Oleh was arrested with gunshot injuries.

Meanwhile, It was reported that at about 12:15 pm on Tuesday, CSP Ogedengbe received a distress call that one man (name withheld) was kidnapped and is being conveyed in his Toyota Corolla car and that the kidnappers were along Akiweh express heading towards Ozoro town. 

In reaction to the call received, the DPO Ozoro Division swiftly mobilized and led a combined team of Police and vigilantes from Ozoro and Akiweh communities. 

In a bid to arrest the suspected kidnapper, the Police created a partial hold up on the road and were conducting intensive stop and search when they sighted the said Toyota Corolla car, the team gave them a hot chase, demobilized the vehicle, which precipitated the suspects to abandon the victim and fled to the bush while firing at the Police. 

During the chase, police recovered one cut-to-size double barrel gun, two (2) live cartridges were recovered and the kidnapped victim who is from effurun was rescued unhurt and his Toyota car.

The injured suspect died while receiving treatment in general hospital. 

Investigation has commenced with a view to arresting the other fleeing members of the syndicate.

In the same vein, the operatives of Agbarho Division led by DSP Habu Haman has arrested a suspected armed robber/cultist, Kingsley Vejeta’m’ of Ekrerhavwe community, Agbarho.

The operatives in combination with the community vigilantes, stormed his hideout and arrest the said suspect.

When being interrogated, at about 0230 hours, the suspect led the Police to the hideout of his other gang members at Ekrehavwe, Agbarho in Ughelli North LGA where on sighting the Police, they took to their heels.

Meanwhile, Seven (7) locally made cut-to-size guns, and four (4) live cartridges were recovered. Whereby manhunt for the other fleeing suspects is ongoings.
